There are section in this that are missing, I think. it is hard to remember it all in hindsight. I will most likely be adding and revising as more facts come to mind.
It all started, well discovered is more accurate, back in November. On the way to work, David was involved in a minor accident. He swerving to miss a fox. When he came to a stop, he had hit his head on the steering wheel. He didn't think much about it, it was just a bump. later that day, he started to feel sick, so he came home.
When I got home, he asked me to take him to the clinic to be looked at. They did an x-ray and found that some of his neck vertabra were compressed and he was put in a neck brace, got some pain meds, and we went home. When we got home, Mike asked what happened. I said Daddy swerved to miss a fox. Mike asked if the fox had bit him. Mind you, Daddy was wearing a neck brace.
After 3 weeks, it became quite obvious that something was seriously wrong. it was hard to notice at first. who doesn't have a hard time finding words once in a while. Daddies was losing fine motor skills in his right arm had been deteriorating. we decided to go back to the clinic. they sent us to the ER and waited for an MRI. They discovered a mass growing in Daddies brain on the left side.
They wanted to do a biopsy. David came home to find other opinions. While waiting for the opinions, Daddys apointment with his neurologist came up, and he is told to goto Johns Hopkins, NOW. We knew this was coming, so after the appointment, we went to city hall to get married. we went home, packed a few things, and headed to Johns Hopkins.
After some tests, including multiple spinal taps, they conclude that he has JC Virus. This is a normal virus the body carries, but our immune system suppresses. Normally that is. The JC Virus was growing/infecting the left side of his brain. His right side had become weaker and weaker. and his speach and word recollection became more difficult. When admited, he had already lost use of his right hand and arm, and was losing his right leg. While in the Hospital, he lost use of his right leg.
They proceded to pump him full of the appropriate antibiotics, and started him on the HAART theropy. They were able to halt the progression of the virus, but Daddy was going to need extensive theropy. He is now at the Kernan hospital for ocupational theropy, physical theropy, and speach theropy.
While his recovery will be slow, he is recovering. hopefully he will be out before the end of the month.

Daddy is coming home Tuesday. he still has a very long road ahead of him. We are probably going to Bears Bikers and Mayhem to catch up with alot of our friends.

Daddy is doing better. his speach is improving. as is his use of his right side. but it will be a long process. His theropists want him to have some prosthetic devices that we can't afford. the medical bills, after insurance are incredible. and we recently found out that it is to early for him to get retirement pay, and social security hasn't kicked in yet. Mortgage is now 2 months behind and my reduced pay isn't enough. I am asking for help until other avenues of income can be established.
